Halloween

Holidays are getting more and more fun the older Lily gets! Even though she is still too young to get super excited about holidays at least now she can actively participate.

This year for Halloween Lily got to carve a pumpkin and go trick-or-treating with friends. She even got to eat a little bit of chocolate!

On Halloween Eve we carved Lily's first pumpkin. She was way more interested in tasting it than helping out.

On Halloween night went over to the Stanley home to meet up with our baby friends and ride in the neighborhood parade. The babies went as the three blind mice but the only one who was really cooperative was Parker! The girls were a mess, of course!

We loaded up the wagon with babies and beer and headed to the parade with our trio of rodents to pass out candy to the neighborhood kids. Parker and Hannah were to young to enjoy any candy this year but Lily had the best day ever just chewing on a mini Hershey bar! It was pretty impossible to get a picture where everyone was happy or even looking at the camera.

6 Days, 4 Countries, 3 Continents

Hi friends and family! It has been over a year since the last time I blogged but we have some huge changes coming up so I figured it was time to start up again to keep everyone updated!

Danny and I just got back from a whirlwind trip that took us to 4 countries in 3continents in just 6 days  to decide if we will be moving our family to Morocco.

We talked to doctors, checked out grocery stores, Danny's office, clothing stores, rode a camel and looked at more villas than I can remember. We ate delicious food and were thoroughly confused by all the languages being spoken around us but we found a house we love and come January 2014 the Tsukaharas will be moving to Agadir, Morocco for 2 years!

While we are really sad to leave our life here in Texas, we are so excited about this new adventure and all the amazing things we will get to see and do.

While Danny and I were in Morocco last week I got to cross one thing off of my my bucket list... riding a camel on the beach!

And just because I know Lily is really the star of the show around here, here is a recent picture of her at the Dallas Arboretum.

Baby Bling

Lily got her ears pierced yesterday. Here is a photo reenactment of how it went.

First Lily was like, "Oh my goodness, why would you do this to meeeeeeee. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!"

Then, "I am still very upset with you mommy, give me some space."

After a while she calmed down, "Yeah, I guess these things look nice. At least you sprung for the diamonds."

And finally, "I look gorgeous!!!"

Much Needed Support

Since Lily was about three weeks old I started walking on the treadmill to get some exercise and try to tone up after nine months of extreme stretching out. Walking and breastfeeding had helped me shed all the pounds from pregnancy but I still felt a little jiggly around the belly so I was so excited when I went to the doctor for my post-partum appointment last week and she cleared me for all types of exercise!

If I had my choice of exercise to do it would be yoga or I would go back to Pure Barre but both of those things are expensive and Danny tells me money doesn't grow on trees so I had to do something free. Running.

I got up bright and early the day after my doctors appointment and started my run on the treadmill when I realized I was in trouble. My sports bra was not cutting it! I might as well not have even been wearing one with all the bouncing that was going on. It never crossed my mind that I would need new sports bras so I turned to the Internet to find the most supportive sports bra I could find.

While spending $50 on a sports bra is not my idea of a fun way to spend my money, this sports bra is really amazing and totally worth the money!  I have used it a few times and am pleased to announce there is no more jiggle! I highly recommend it for any new mamas out there who need some extra support!

Lily's First Trip to Aggieland

This weekend we took Lily to see where she will be attending college in 18 years (class of 2034)!

Danny took the day off of work on Friday so we could get to College Station nice and early. Our first stop was a tent sale where Danny and I both got new A&M shirts for the game the next day. Then we headed to the Tap for lunch. This is Danny's favorite place to eat in College Station so we always have to go when we are in town. While the Tap is a restaurant, it is more well known as a bar so it felt a little funny walking in there with a baby!

Saturday was game day and we were up bright and early to go set up stuff at the tailgate!

Unfortunately it had rained all night and it was still raining pretty hard so the boys got soaked getting everything set up. Lily and I kept dry in the car and went to wait out the rain at Danny's aunt and uncles RV spot on the other side of campus.

About an hour before game time the rain slowed and Danny came over to get us and walk us over to the tailgate. Again, we looked like parents of the year taking a two month old baby to a tailgate while it was raining but in our defense she was wrapped up in a sling and I had a rain jacket on and we were going to be under tents all day so she never got a drop of rain on her!

We spent the day munching on food, chatting with friends and watching the Aggies kick some Razorback booty! I would say it was a pretty successful first trip to Aggieland for Lily!

Push It

Today Lily is four weeks old (I am working on another video slide show to document her first month of life) and I got my push present from Danny! I don't know who came up with the idea of a push present, but I am a major fan! When I brought it up to Danny months and months ago he of course thought it was ridiculous, but I used my powers of persuasion and pregnant lady status to get him on board.

Danny isn't great at coming up with gift ideas on his own (probably because I don't give him the chance) so I told him what I thought would be really special and he delivered!

He got me a ring that matches my wedding band but has alternating diamonds and rubys (Lily's birth stone).

I love that I can wear it alone or stack it with my wedding band or wear it with both my wedding band and ring. So many options! I also love that it is something timeless that I can give to Lily one day.

Happy Birthday

Today is my wonderful daddy's 60th birthday and it is Lily's 2 week birthday!!!

I am pretty bummed that I can't be with my dad to celebrate since this is a big birthday, but when he was here for Lily's birth, I made sure to get him a cake and sing to him.

Since today is Lily's birthday as well, we had to head to the doctor for her 2 week check up. Our little lady is growing, growing growing!!! When we went to the doctor last week Lily weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 18.75 inches long. Today the little nugget weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. It is crazy that a baby can grow that much in just one week!  The doctor said everything looks perfect which is music to our ears!

Here are some pictures from week two of life!
