Birthday Weekend

I turned 27 last Thursday. 27 is kind of a scary bday. It officially marks the entrance into my late 20's which means I am that much closer to being 30 which I am totally not ready for. Scary bday or not, I love celebrating!

2 weeks ago we had the 3rd annual birthday crawfish boil for Jon and I where I ate half my body weight in crawfish. So yummy!

On Wednesday (day before my bday) the girls at work took me out to lunch at one of our fave places, Hibachi.

Thursday, Danny picked me up for lunch and we headed to Torchy's Tacos.

I normally take a Pure Barre class on Thursdays after work and I didn't want to mess with my routine so I decided I would take Pure Barre on my bday and Danny and I could go out for dinner on Saturday night to celebrate.

Friday night we had friends over for a pizza bar/game night party. This was not part of the bday celebrations but was such a great time! We had all sorts of pizza toppings and everyone brought their own pizza dough and meat topping and we made pizzas together. After we finished eating, chatting and watching the Ranger game we got down to business. We played Taboo, the dice game Left Right and Center, and the movie charade game. We had so much

fun! Game night is definitely something we need to do more often.

Saturday was one of the greatest days in the history of days. We slept in, I went to Pure Barre, we laid out in the pool while we watched the Ranger game, we took an almost three hour nap and then we headed out to dinner at Bolsa.

We had some cocktails and wine and then had a yummy dinner which included a bruschetta sampler for an appetizer followed by mussels for me and pork belly for Danny. It was so yummy and I had such a great time just sitting at talking with my hubby. It was the perfect end to a great day!

So, even though I was not looking forward to turning 27, I had such a great time hanging out with all the people I love most!!! I am sure this year will be great!

Shellie’s Bowling Birthday

My sweet best friend Shellie turned 27 years old yesterday! To celebrate her big day, a group of us got together and went bowling on Saturday afternoon and had an absolute blast!!!

Nothing is better than the four B’s (birthdays, beer, bowling and buds) on a Saturday afternoon.

The girls had a great time laughing and chit chatting throughout our games while the guys tried to keep us on track so we could get in as many games as possible in our 2 hours there. We did speed bowling on our 3^rd game of the day and tried to have 10 people finish a game in 15 minutes! That totally did not happen but speed bowling was surprisingly super fun (this totally could have been due to the number of pitchers of beer we had consumed at this point).

After we finished bowling Shellie opened her bday presents and we called it day. It was so fun getting to hang out with everyone, especially the bday girl since she has been out of town so much for work lately! We love you Shellie and hope you had a wonderful 27^th birthday!

P.S. Danny has now declared bowling to be so fun that he thinks it would be the perfect date night for us. I told him I don’t think I could bowl for two hours straight on a date night because it makes me tired. He then told me that it was ok because he would bowl for me if I got tired and I could just watch him. Um, yeah, because that is exactly what I want to do on a date!

Birthday Fun!

Last week one of my best buds, Kiki, celebrated her 26th birthday!


To celebrate, we got together this weekend for a pool party and a cookout.


We spent the day hanging out in the pool, drinking and eating delicious hamburgers that Danny made for all of us.


It was a great day filled with lots of laughs, fun and sunshine! We were so worn out from the sun that we fell asleep right when we got home and took a two hour nap!

Kiki, I hope you had a great 26th birthday! We had such a fun time celebrating with you!!!

Today is my mom's 60th birthday!!! I don't think she reads this but if you meet her don't tell her I told you how old she is!

I don't think my mom looks 60 but for some reason my memory card reader isn't working so I can't get a picture of her to show you, so you will just have to take my word for it.

My mom is a nut, tells stories with way too many pointless details and reads every single sign we pass by when we are on road trips. But she loves me not matter what and thinks I am what makes the world go around. She does everything she can to make my brother and I happy and we appreciate her more than she knows!

So happy birthday to my momma!!!

Today I am 26

Today is my 26th birthday! Geez, 26 years. That sounds so old and grown up but I still feel like a little kid just playing dress up!

Today has been a pretty great day. I did have to go to work, which was pretty lame, but other than that my day has been great!

After work Danny and I headed out to have dinner at one of my favorite places, Big Shucks. This is not the typical birthday dinner spot most people would pick, but it is so yummy and a favorite spot for Danny and I. I had ceviche and oysters on the half-shell and Danny had the catfish poboy.

After dinner we went to Michael's to get some crafting supplies. I am always on the lookout for some good crafting supplies! There is a Baskin Robbins right next door to Michael's so we went over there for a birthday treat. And guess what?!!??! They had my favorite ice cream flavor in the entire universe, bubblegum!!!! This is a seasonal flavor for them but I can never remember what season it is that they have it so I go in there all the time hoping they have it and they never do. Today however it was there! It was like a birthday miracle!

Now we are back at the house, sitting on the porch, listening to music and drinking some wine. I may even start reading the book Ender and Ollie got me, One Red Paperclip.

This is the prefect end to a great day!

To The Birthday Girl

Today is a very special day. It is my best friend Ashley's 26th birthday!



Ash and I met when we were 19 and taking our first accounting class during our sophomore year at A&M and we have been together every step of the way since!



She is truly one of the most caring. selfless, thoughtful people I have ever known and the best friend a girl could ask for. I am so lucky to have her in my life.

Fun Bobby is 26!

This Saturday night we headed out to celebrate Fun Bobby's 26th birthday at Cyclones!

Not only was it great to celebrate the day that our amazing friend came into the world but it was also so great to be back with all my Dallas besties! 4 straight weeks out of town without any girlfriend time was rough!

We started the night with jumbo margaritas and yummy mexican food at the restaurant and then headed back to Jen's place to have some yummy pear-tinis (thanks to Kiki) and a giant cupcake cake (thanks to Katie).

It was such a great night full of laughs and totally inappropriate conversations. Luckily, those kinds of nights just happen to be my favorites! Thanks for the great time girls!

Danny's Birthday!

Today this guy turns 26 years old!

Can you believe that? I can't, especially when he takes self portraits of himself like this. I can't remember where we were going after he took this picture, but I know he asked me if he could leave the house like that. Uh no, I don't think so.

In a few days we will also celebrate our 2 year anniversary, I can't believe that either.

Danny is my favorite person to be around hands down and he makes me laugh more than anyone I have ever met.

This year we aren't having a big birthday bash like we normally do. We had plans last weekend and we have plans next weekend so we are just going to do a nice dinner at one of our favorite restaurants tonight.

Birthday Fun!

Today is Kiki's 25th birthday. Happy Birthday Kiki!!! This past weekend we got together to celebrate and had a blast!

We started off at Times Ten Cellars. None of us had ever been there and it turns out there was an engagement party for someone named Kristin and Travis in the party room that is right next to the parking lot. Every single person who was going to Kiki's bday walked into that engagement party by mistake! Lucky for everyone else, they all came in pairs but I was solo that night so I walked into that party alone! I was sooo embarrassed.

Anyway, once we all actually got to the right place we ate great food (made by Kiki), had many bottles of wine and a delicious cake!

After we had all the fun we could at the wine bar, we headed down the street to The Old Monk (where many great memories have been made). It was such a fun night and I am so glad I got to be there to help the birthday girl celebrate!

Kiki is the baby of the group so she was the last one to turn 25. Now we have to start planning all the 26th birthday parties! We are getting so old!
