Dog Tales

Last night, these two hooligans got yelled at because they would not stay out of the master bedroom where we were trying to build something and then start ripping up the carpet. I was the one yelling at them so I am not surprised they didn't do what they were told because those fools never listen to what I say. Anyway, I finally got their attention and told them to go get in their beds. I walked into the guest room to make sure they actually did what they were told and this is what I found. They are totally best buds!!! Ollie has his own bed but I guess he wanted to snuggle with his big brother!

Charlie, my parents dog who now lives with us, refuses to sleep on dog beds. He prefers things like the couch or our bed. Problem is he likes to lick his paws which totally annoys me, he takes up way too much space when you let him on the bed and he is a dog so sometimes he stinks like a bag of Frito's. Therefore, this guy has to sleep on the floor. He also won't be caught dead laying less than 2 feet away from Ender which is why he wasn't in the pic with the other dogs. Ollie he semi likes, Ender he tolerates.

All three of these dogs are totally nuts, but we still totally love them! Danny says I love them more than I love him. Not true, but they aren't too far behind on my love meter.

Weekend Fun

This weekend was so great! The weather was amazing and I got to hang out with some of my all time favorite people!

Friday night Danny and I hit up Home Depot for some paint so I could finish painting our closets which are part of the bathroom renovation. $200 plus dollars later we walked out of there with a giant bag of soil, flower bulbs, saw blades, mortar, two cans of spray paint, bars for the closets and a gallon of paint. We headed home, made a BBQ chicken dinner, played outside with the dogs and then painted the closets.

Saturday, while Danny and his parents laid the tile in our bathroom, I spent the day with Kiki trying to go “thrifting”. The mission was not successful and all I ended up with were 2 candle sticks from Goodwill. Kiki came home empty handed. Total let down. We need to reassess and find some better places to go!

I came home and spray painted my new candlesticks with some metallic spray paint that I got at Home Depot the night before.

Not bad for $1.99.

That night, we went over to Jon and Shellie’s and had steak, mashed potatoes and baked beans for dinner. Then we sat on the couch and watched House Crashers for like 2 hours. I don’t know why, but I thought it was the funniest show I have ever seen.

Sunday we had another date with Shellie and Jon to go to the ballet in Fort Worth. We went up there a little early and had lunch at a cute restaurant downtown called Cowtown Diner. Then we walked down the street and had a frozen banana before the show.

All in all, a super fantastic weekend. This spring time weather has really put some pep in my step!

I love my happy hubby!

The Half Bath

I have no idea what week of the renovation we are on at this point. We had some set backs like ice storms and my family coming to visit and now the hubs is sick so I have decided to stop counting.

We were able to get the half bath completed about 2 weeks ago and I am so happy with the way it turned out. I was concerned that it would be too cramped in there but it turned out to be just the right size.It is super simple with a pedestal sink, toilet, mirror and marble tile. The mirror was like $70 at Lowe's and is my favorite part of the room. I also painted horizontal stripes on the wall but they are kind of hard to see since I used the same paint color just in 2 different sheens. Danny was totally against the stripes because he didn't think we would be able to get clean enough lines but Frog Tape has literally changed my life. This stuff is so much better than normal blue painters tape.

This has nothing to do with the bathroom but I got a new rug for the craft room that I think makes it look so much more cozy!

These guys approve.
