Belly on a Budget

Monday - Work

Top: Forever 21, about $5, regular size S
Cardigan: JCrew (pre prego), regular size XS
Bottoms: Macys, Motherhood Maternity Brand, maternity size S

photo

Same old boring pants but I don't think I have worn this top recently. I grabbed it at Forever 21 towards the end of my first trimester because I love polka dots and the peachy color (it looks pretty washed out in this pic). It was great for a while because it is sheer and loose but after looking at this picture I think it needs to be retired! Just not looking too flattering anymore. I am sure it will be great post baby to help hide any stomach pooch I have going on but for the next 4.5 weeks it is going to the back of the closet!

Tuesday - Work & Michael Jackson Cirque Show

Dress: Old Navy, $19.94, regular size XS

photo2

I have worn this dress a couple of times recently and it has become one of my favorites for these later weeks in pregnancy. It is really comfy, still a great length, and can be dressed up a little with some jewelty.

Wednesday - Work

Top: Old Navy, $8, regular size S
Cardigan:Old Navy, regular size XS
Pants: Old Navy, $22.94, maternity size XS

photo3

Today I was feeling colorful! I am trying to get as much use as I can out of these maternity pants since I got them late in the game and they feel like you are wearing pajama pants which is always nice! I just threw on a hot pink tank and a royal blue cardigan and I was set!

Thursday - Work

Dress: Nordstrom Rack, $39.97, regular size S
Cardigan: Really old

photo

I love this dress, but I think it would look much better without the big belly and the cardigan. I can't wait to wear it after Lily is born and not have to worry about always throwing a cardigan on top of it for work.

Friday - Work & Rangers Game

Top: Target, about $6, regular size M
Cardigan: J Crew (pre preggo), size XSBottoms: American Eagle (pre prego) w/ the Bella Band

 photo2

Today is jeans day at work and Danny and I are heading to the Ranger game tonight! In order to minimize my number of wardrobe changes, I made sure to wear the same thing to work that I am planning on wearing to the baseball game. The jeans are some pre prego skinny jeans from American Eagle that are royal blue (Rangers colors are red, white and blue). They obvi don't zip or button at all anymore so the Bella Band is holding my pants up today! Tank is just a long grey and white stripe that I picked up at Target on clearance a couple of months ago. Of course, since I am at work, I had to throw on a  cardigan. Even though my office is really casual in the summers (especially on Friday) I just don't think wearing a cotton tank top would fly. Cardigan is for sure coming off for the baseball game since it is over 100 degrees here in the afternoons.

Oh Baby Baby - Week 35

35 weeks

How Far Along? 35 weeks…only 5 weeks to go (35 days).

Size of Baby?  Baby is the size of a coconut and now weighs about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and is about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long.

Maternity Clothes?  Still just using the few maternity pants I have but mostly wearing dresses. With only 5 weeks to go I am hoping to not have to buy anything else and just make due with what I have.
Weight Gain? Holding steady at 18 lbs per my doctors appointment last week.
Gender? Girl! Liliana Adele.

Sleep? Still really great! I think Lily knows that momma needs her sleep or she is grumpy! Hopefully Lily will continue to be a good girl after she arrives and let me get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep every now and then!
Food Cravings? Still just fruit and sometimes ice cream.
What I Miss? Nothing.

Symptoms?  The balls of my feet were hurting a little bit this week which I think is due to the fact that I still wear heels or wedges to work every day with all this extra weight on me.  Also, I have started feeling some uncomfortable jabs down near my lady parts. The doctor told me Lily was head down so I think she is punching my organs or something.
Belly Button? Out
Best Moment of the Week? I think the best moment of the week was hearing from the doctor that Lily is head down. I know she could still always decide to move, but it made me so excited because it makes me think that she is getting ready inside me while are busy out here getting ready for her!.

Dallas Baby Shower

Last Saturday my best girlfriends threw an amazing baby shower for Lily, Danny and I! It was a relaxing few hours hanging out with our favorite friends, eating some yummy food, playing some fun games and opening adorable gifts for Lily. It was absolutely perfect!

Here we are excited for the party to start!

Me with all the beautiful hostesses.

I fogot to take a picture of the sign in table before it got converted to the dessert table but this is what our guests signed in on.

IMG_5901

How adorable is that?!?! Tori is so artistic and hand drew that tree! Once Lily makes her debut we will put her thumb print in that blank spot next to mine and Danny's thumbprint (right above the "Welcome Lily" banner) and Tori is going to turn our thumb prints into a little bird family! So cuuuute!

The flowers on the tables were all lilies in honor of the guest of honor!
IMG_5854

The boys at the party spent most of their time hanging out, drinking beer and playing Polish Golf which is a made up game that everyone seems to love! To get them in on some shower activities the girls set up a version of baby bottle flip cup. There were two teams racing to chug their beer out of a baby bottle. It was pretty hilarious to watch! Here are some action shots!

Look at his awesome form!

After all that excitement, all the girls headed inside for present time! I love presents. I love getting them, I love giving them, I love sneaking around trying to find my presents, I love watching other people open presents, I love everything about presents!

We are so lucky and got some great gifts at the shower! We got bath stuff, diapers, wipes detergent, swaddle blankets, a humidfier, cute A&M gear, adorable Rangers outfits, a baby carrier and a moby wrap, new mommy essentials, precious outfits, a personalized Lily pillow, a mani/pedi gift certificate (momma needs a little pampering too), tons of books, sweet handmade gifts and more! I wish I would have taken a picture of all the gifts but of course I got antsy once I got home and openend everything so I could put it where it belonged!

Here are pictures of the homemade stuff so you can see just how talented these girls are!

Tori sewed Lily this adorable dress
IMG_5904

Tori's mom crocheted her this hat and blanket
IMG_5905

Kiki made Lily a quilt that matches her room. I can't even imagine how long it takes to make something like this! So special!
IMG_5906 IMG_5907

Kiki also made these blocks that spell out Lily. I sent her a picture of what I wanted not too long ago and gave her my leftover fabric from some other projects I had done in Lily's rooms and voila, personalized blocks for Lily! The girls used them for decoration at the shower and now they sit on the shelf in Lily's room.

IMG_5903

This wasn't actually homemade by one of the girls, but it was homemade by someone! Ashley got Lily this adorable pillow that spells out her name and is colorful and has little animals just like her room!
IMG_5902

Then it was time for dessert (made by Katie and Tori) some more hanging out and some pictures under Lily's banner! I wish I would have gotten pictures of all of our guests but I kept losing my camera!

It was such a special and fun day for us and I am thankful to have such amazing friends who love us and our little Lily so much already!

Belly on a Budget

Saturday - Baby Shower
Dress: TJ Maxx, $39.99, regular size S

June 16, 2012
photo photo2

This is hands down my favorite purchase since I have been pregnant. Way back in March I was home in Brownsville and decided to go to TJMaxx. I love just going in and looking at everything because you never really know what you are going to find. I saw this dress and loved it! It is one of my favorite colors, looked cute on, was a great price and I just knew it would be perfect for later in my pregnancy/a baby shower. Original price of the dress was $118, TJMaxx price was $39.99. Total bargain!!! To top it all off, it was soooo comfortable!

Here is how I looked when I first tried it on and sent the picture to some girlfriends asking about hemming it. The belly has really grown in the last three months!

Monday - Work
Top: Forever 21, $7, regular size S
Skirt: Target, $10, regular size S

photo3

I hated this outfit. I felt like a frumpy lady but we had a busy weekend and I didn't do laundry or brainstorm an outfit the night before.

Tuesday - Work
Dress: TJMaxx, $29.99, regular size 4

photo4

Same dress I posted a few weeks ago. Still fits, its comfy and I look put together. That is all I can ask for these days!

Wednesday - Work & Dr's Appt
Top: Forever 21, don't remember the price, regular size S
Pants: Macy's, Destination Maternity, maternity size XS

photo6 q

Same pants that I whip out about once a week. The top is old and from Forever 21. It was nice and breezy since it is sheer and it still fit my belly in it (barely)!

Thursday - Work
Dress: Dillards, BGBGeneration, don't remember the price, regular size XS

photo5

This dress has some history! The first time I ever wore it was to my bridal shower back in April of 2010 (my mom and I color coordinated, great minds think alike)!

31969_10100276157310414_5130360_n

I wore it for the second time this Easter when my belly wasn't all that big yet. I loved it and thought "why have I not worn this dress in 2 years?"  Then in desperation this morning I pulled it out and hoped it would still fit and it did! The attached slip thing underneath was pretty short in the front so I think this is the last time I can wear it while preggo.

Friday - Work & Rangers Game

I forgot to take a picture this morning but I am wearing denim maternity shorts, a red tank and royal blue cardigan over it. Nothing special.

Oh Baby Baby - Week 34

34 weeks

How Far Along? 34 weeks…only 6 weeks to go (42 days).

Size of Baby?  Baby is the size of a butternut squash and now weighs about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and is about 17.2 to 18.7 inches long.

Maternity Clothes?  Still just using the few maternity pants I have but mostly wearing dresses.

Weight Gain? This week my scale at home tells me I am up to almost 20lbs. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so my next update will be more accurate!

Gender? Girl! Liliana Adele.

Sleep? Still no problems in this area. I am sleeping so hard that I actually find myself waking up really refreshed in the morning.
Food Cravings? Just fruit.

What I Miss? Nothing. Just excited that we are getting so close to meeting this sweet baby girl!

Symptoms?  I really have not noticed any pregnancy symptoms at all this week.
Belly Button? Out
Best Moment of the Week? So many great things happened this week. My amazing girlfriends threw us an adorable and fun baby shower, my bestie took some beautiful maternity pictures for us, and Danny got to celebrate his first Father’s Day! Detailed blog posts on all of these things to come!

Belly on a Budget

Saturday - Baby CPR/Baby Care Basics Class
Top: Target, $5.80, regular size M
Skirt: Target, $10, regular size XS

photo
We had a full day of baby prep classes today so comfort was key!

Sunday - Breastfeeding Class and Errands
Dress: Old Navy, $19.94, regular size XS

photo2
More baby prep!

Monday - Work
Dress: Nordstrom Rack, $29, regular size S

photo3

I got this dress when I was newly pregnant because it looked like something that I would be able to wear for a while with a growing belly. So far it is still working for me but it is getting a bit short in the front.

Tuesday - Work and Annivesary Dinner
Dress: Wal Mart, $18, maternity size S

photo4

This is a black maxi dress that I randomly ordered online from Wal Mart a few months back. It was too big for me when I first got it but it works now and is really comfy. An added bonus is that I didn't have to get it hemmed. I threw it in the washer and dryer to shrink it a little bit and I was able to wear it with flat sandals.

Wednesday - Work
Top: Nordstrom Rack, about $20, regular size S
Bottoms: Joe's Jeans Stretch Leggings (pre preggo)

photo

I got this top back in January because I loved the color! It is sheer so it is nice and breezy with a tank top underneath. The pants are Joes Jeans brand and they are just a thick black legging that I had before I was pregnant. These aren't just like pull on totally elastic leggings though (I think those are too see through most of the time) these are more like stretchy black pants (they have a button, zipper and pockets). These pants do not zip at all anymore and I had a hard time getting them over my hips! I wiggled into them and then used my black Bella Band to hide the fact that my pants were wide open.

Thursday - Work
Top: Jcrew, not sure of the price, regular size S
Bottoms: Macy's, Destination Maternity, $24, maternity size XS

photo2

I got this shirt with a gift card after Christmas this year. I was already pregnant but I didn't have a bump yet. I decided to get it in a S instead of an XS so it would have some extra length and I am so glad I did because it is still a good length on me 6 months later! The pants are the same old Destination Maternity pants. I tried to put on some other non maternity pants this morning with a different top but I didn't like it so I changed into this and the minute I put these pants on I felt 100% more comfortable. I still have some room to grow in these pants so I think they may last me all the way to the end!

Friday - Work
Top: TJ Maxx, $9, regular size S
Tank: Old Navy, $10, maternity XS
Bottoms: Old Navy, Maternity Smooth Panel Jeans, $39.94, maternity size 1 short

2 Year Anniversary

Yesterday was our 2 year anniversary. I really can't believe that we have been married for 2 years already! Time is just flying by way too fast. Even though I am 28, I feel like I am too young to have been married for 2 years and have a baby on the way. It all sounds way too grown up!

There are a few traditions we try to keep every year. I think it is fun to try and get each other the traditional anniversary gift for the year (year 2 is cotton), drink out of the same champagne flutes we used at our wedding (this year we had to do sparkling grape juice of course) and take a family photo so we can see how much our little family has changed in a year.

The dogs were not cooperating with the self timer so this is the best we could get.
For gifts this year I kind of cheated a little bit because the main part of Danny's gift was not made of cotton but some of the smaller stuff was. I got him an autographed picture of Michael Young and then put together a Rangers goodie basket to go along with it that had a tshirt (cotton), cotton candy (cotton), peanuts, cracker jacks and sunflower seeds.

IMG_5839

Danny did a great job on my gift (despite the fact that he wrapped it in the A&M snuggie that I cover up with on the couch)! He had a picture from our honeymoon (where we are actually drinking champagne strangely enough) put on a big canvas.

IMG_5786

We also went out to dinner last night at the same place we had our very first date, Salum. This was the first time we had been back in 4 1/2 years and it was so fun to reminisce about that very first date! Danny even ordered flowers that he had delivered to the restaurant so they were sitting on the table waiting for us!

I absolutely love being married to my best friend and I am so lucky that he chose me! 2 years down, a lifetime to go!
