Baby Bling

Lily got her ears pierced yesterday. Here is a photo reenactment of how it went.

First Lily was like, "Oh my goodness, why would you do this to meeeeeeee. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!"

Then, "I am still very upset with you mommy, give me some space."

After a while she calmed down, "Yeah, I guess these things look nice. At least you sprung for the diamonds."

And finally, "I look gorgeous!!!"

Much Needed Support

Since Lily was about three weeks old I started walking on the treadmill to get some exercise and try to tone up after nine months of extreme stretching out. Walking and breastfeeding had helped me shed all the pounds from pregnancy but I still felt a little jiggly around the belly so I was so excited when I went to the doctor for my post-partum appointment last week and she cleared me for all types of exercise!

If I had my choice of exercise to do it would be yoga or I would go back to Pure Barre but both of those things are expensive and Danny tells me money doesn't grow on trees so I had to do something free. Running.

I got up bright and early the day after my doctors appointment and started my run on the treadmill when I realized I was in trouble. My sports bra was not cutting it! I might as well not have even been wearing one with all the bouncing that was going on. It never crossed my mind that I would need new sports bras so I turned to the Internet to find the most supportive sports bra I could find.

While spending $50 on a sports bra is not my idea of a fun way to spend my money, this sports bra is really amazing and totally worth the money!  I have used it a few times and am pleased to announce there is no more jiggle! I highly recommend it for any new mamas out there who need some extra support!

Lily's First Trip to Aggieland

This weekend we took Lily to see where she will be attending college in 18 years (class of 2034)!

photo(22)

Danny took the day off of work on Friday so we could get to College Station nice and early. Our first stop was a tent sale where Danny and I both got new A&M shirts for the game the next day. Then we headed to the Tap for lunch. This is Danny's favorite place to eat in College Station so we always have to go when we are in town. While the Tap is a restaurant, it is more well known as a bar so it felt a little funny walking in there with a baby!

Saturday was game day and we were up bright and early to go set up stuff at the tailgate!

photo(18)

Unfortunately it had rained all night and it was still raining pretty hard so the boys got soaked getting everything set up. Lily and I kept dry in the car and went to wait out the rain at Danny's aunt and uncles RV spot on the other side of campus.

About an hour before game time the rain slowed and Danny came over to get us and walk us over to the tailgate. Again, we looked like parents of the year taking a two month old baby to a tailgate while it was raining but in our defense she was wrapped up in a sling and I had a rain jacket on and we were going to be under tents all day so she never got a drop of rain on her!

We spent the day munching on food, chatting with friends and watching the Aggies kick some Razorback booty! I would say it was a pretty successful first trip to Aggieland for Lily!

Push It

Today Lily is four weeks old (I am working on another video slide show to document her first month of life) and I got my push present from Danny! I don't know who came up with the idea of a push present, but I am a major fan! When I brought it up to Danny months and months ago he of course thought it was ridiculous, but I used my powers of persuasion and pregnant lady status to get him on board.

Danny isn't great at coming up with gift ideas on his own (probably because I don't give him the chance) so I told him what I thought would be really special and he delivered!

He got me a ring that matches my wedding band but has alternating diamonds and rubys (Lily's birth stone).

I love that I can wear it alone or stack it with my wedding band or wear it with both my wedding band and ring. So many options! I also love that it is something timeless that I can give to Lily one day.

Happy Birthday

Today is my wonderful daddy's 60th birthday and it is Lily's 2 week birthday!!!

I am pretty bummed that I can't be with my dad to celebrate since this is a big birthday, but when he was here for Lily's birth, I made sure to get him a cake and sing to him.

Since today is Lily's birthday as well, we had to head to the doctor for her 2 week check up. Our little lady is growing, growing growing!!! When we went to the doctor last week Lily weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 18.75 inches long. Today the little nugget weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. It is crazy that a baby can grow that much in just one week!  The doctor said everything looks perfect which is music to our ears!

Here are some pictures from week two of life!

Oh Baby Baby - Week 40

40 weeks

How Far Along? 40 weeks…Today is the BIG day!!! Lily's little head would not drop so we are having her via c section today at noon!

Size of Baby?  Baby is the size of a jackfruit and now weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and is about 18.9 to 20.19 inches long. Per my sono yesterday, Lily is estimated to weigh 7 lbs 9 oz

Maternity Clothes? Hopefully these are a thing of the past.

Weight Gain? Official weigh in yesterday was 21 lbs.

Gender? Girl! Liliana Adele.

Sleep? Sleep is great. The past few nights I woke up really early in the morning but was able to fall back asleep after 30 minutes or so. I think it was just excitement!
Food Cravings? Still just fruit and sweet treats! I am pretty sure I have eaten at least one serving of ice cream everyday this past week.

What I Miss? Nothing!

Symptoms?  Balls of my feet were still hurting me pretty badly this week. Other than that nothing out of the ordinary. I have to admit that I am kind of bummed that I won't get to experience the symptoms of going into labor on my own. As much as I would have liked to avoid a c section I know that my plans are not always His plans and I know just how lucky I am to be given the gift of a baby. I know it is a privilege that not everyone is granted so all I can do is smile and go with it!
Belly Button? Out
Best Moment of the Week? I am pretty sure I will be having the best moment of the week today at noon!

Here is a little video I put together last week to get everyone ready to meet our sweet girl!

Oh Baby Baby - Week 39

39 weeks

How Far Along? 39 weeks…only 1 week to go (7 days). Woohoo!!!!

Size of Baby?  Baby is the size of a watermelon and now weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long. I for sure feel like I am carrying a watermelon in there!

Maternity Clothes?  Still just using the few maternity items I have. Almost all tops and dresses are still my pre preggo stuff. Tomorrow is my last day of work so I won't have to worry about wearing office appropriate clothes anymore. It will probably be yoga pants and tank tops from here on out!

Weight Gain? I was up to 21 lbs at my last doctors appointment.

Gender? Girl! Liliana Adele.

Sleep? Sleep is still really good.
Food Cravings? Still just fruit and sweet treats!

What I Miss? Being able to bend over easily, not bumping into things with my belly and being able to get out of bed easily.

Symptoms?  This week I am still feeling pressure down low when I go from sitting to standing and getting a little crampy sometimes. The balls of my feet also hurt pretty badly when I first wake up in the morning and start walking around.
Belly Button? Out
Best Moment of the Week?  Hmmmm, every day just gets more and more exciting since we are one day closer to meeting Lily! This weekend was pretty fun because we got to see most of our besties (Saturday night at a wedding shower and then Sunday night at a fish fry).

Lily's Nursery

With Lily's due date being 8 days away I figured it was probably time to get some pictures of her nursery up on the blog!

I think I have said it before, but when I found out I was pregnant I immediately thought we were having a girl so I would look at girl stuff all the time. I saw this rug on the Anthropologie website and knew this is what I wanted the nursery to be based around if the baby did end up being a girl.

Lucky for me my intuition was right and I literally ordered this rug the minute I got back to work after the appointment when we found out that we were in fact having a baby girl!

I think all the bright and fun colors drew me to the rug and it really worked out perfectly because Lily's zodiac sign will be Leo, which is a lion, so she will fit in perfectly as the queen of her little jungle! I wasn't really planning on the animals in the rug being part of the theme of her room (I was more focused on the colors) but we did end up having a few special elephant items in the room.

Enough talking! Here are the pictures!

It was to hard to get the whole room in one picture so I tried to do a little panoramic and then a few close up shots!

Now all we need to make the room complete is our little Lily girl!

Natural Shower Cleaner

Almost one year ago I wrote this post on making my own cleaning products. I am happy to report that a year later I still using my homemade cleaning products and loving them!

In my original post I mentioned that I still needed to change out the hardwood floor cleaner, febreeze, dusting spray and shower cleaner. I stopped using the febreeze all together so that isn't an issue anymore, I got a Shark steam mop to clean the floors so I was able to get rid of the hardwood floor cleaner, the Pledge dusting spray is apparently 99% natural so I have not gotten around to changing that out but this weekend I finally got around to tackling the shower cleaner issue. I loved my kaboom. It was like magic but we finally ran out and it was time to make the switch.

I was looking around on Pinterest to see what I could find for a natural shower cleaner and came across a pin that linked here. This is my kind of cleaning recipe! Only two ingredients (white vinegar and dawn dish soap), and it worked! I just sprayed it on, let it sit for a few minutes and then wiped  it away!

This is such an easy recipe if you are just getting into making your own cleaning products. You may love it so much that you decide to change out all your cleaning products!

Happy cleaning!

Oh Baby Baby - week 38

38 weeks

How Far Along? 38 weeks…only 2 weeks to go (14 days). I have no idea how it is possible to only have 14 days to go!!! Ahhh!!!

Size of Baby?  Baby is the size of a pumpkin and now weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long.

Maternity Clothes?  Still just using the few maternity items I have. Almost all tops and dresses are still my pre preggo stuff.  Thank goodness I only have 2 weeks to go because I am running out of tops that fit!

Weight Gain? I was up to 20 lbs at my last doctors appointment.

Gender? Girl! Liliana Adele.

Sleep? Sleep is still really good. My problem is I am so cozy in bed that I don’t want to get up in the mornings!
Food Cravings? Still just fruit and sweet treats!

What I Miss? Being able to bend over easily, not bumping into things with my belly and being able to get out of bed easily.

Symptoms?  I actually still feel really great. I am starting to feel a lot more pressure down low when I go from sitting to standing and I get a little crampy sometimes. One of my more disgusting symptoms in the past couple of weeks has been gas. My stomach makes all kinds of noises all day long at work. When I get home and “let it all out” it is so stinky that even my husband is grossed out! I always blame the stinky gas on being pregnant so I hope it goes away once Lily is born. If not, I guess I can always blame the stinky smells on the baby. I have also been getting a shooting pain in my inner thigh depending on the way I am standing. I learned today that it is called "lightning crotch" (awesome name). Apparently, the baby is sitting so low in my pelvis that she is pushing on nerves. Haha, lightning crotch, so funny!
Belly Button? Out
Best Moment of the Week? Just knowing that we are so close to meeting this little lady! We even put the car seat bases in the car so we are ready for Lily to come at any time!

Things my Husband Says

Location: Our house

Time: Last night while we were getting ready for bed

While we were getting ready for bed we started talking about how this pregnancy is so close to being over, yada, yada, yada. I said something along the lines of "Were you really worried that I was going to be a crazy pregnant lady?",  Danny said "Yeah, kinda.", Then I started asking him if he thought I was high maintenance before I got pregnant and he said "Well, I don't think you are high maintenance but you are the most demanding roommate I have ever had. " Thanks babe, while I am happy to know that you don't consider me high maintenance I am not sure how I feel about you calling me your roommate!

Maternity Pics

Oh maternity pictures. Some people love them and some people hate them. Some are really beautiful and some are so totally cheesy. Danny thinks they are all totally cheesy but I still wanted to have some pictures of us looking happy during this exciting time! Well, lucky for me, I have an awesome best friend who is also an awesome photographer!

Ash was coming up to Dallas for the baby shower a few weeks ago (she was one of the hostesses) and I asked her if she thought we would have time to squeeze in a quick photo session while she was here!

I knew Danny would get antsy if it was too much of a production and took too long, so we kept it casual at a park near our house and did a quick 30 minute session.  I just love how they turned out! Here are some of my favorites.

Thanks so much to my beautiful best friend for taking such beautiful pictures of such an exciting time in our lives. We can't thank you enough Ashley!
