Happy Birthday

Today is my wonderful daddy's 60th birthday and it is Lily's 2 week birthday!!!

I am pretty bummed that I can't be with my dad to celebrate since this is a big birthday, but when he was here for Lily's birth, I made sure to get him a cake and sing to him.

Since today is Lily's birthday as well, we had to head to the doctor for her 2 week check up. Our little lady is growing, growing growing!!! When we went to the doctor last week Lily weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 18.75 inches long. Today the little nugget weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. It is crazy that a baby can grow that much in just one week!  The doctor said everything looks perfect which is music to our ears!

Here are some pictures from week two of life!

A Quick Trip Home

This weekend I took an impromptu trip home to see the family!

I flew in late on Friday night and left on Sunday evening but I got a lot accomplished in less than 48 hours.

The first thing I did when I got home was snuggle with this guy.

Saturday morning my dad and I headed to our favorite breakfast place in all the world, Toddle Inn. I ate a giant breakfast taco and my dad of course had the huevos rancheros. Then, we made a quick stop at my grandma's house (dad's mom) before we left to Kingsville to see my mom's parents.

In Kingsville, I got to spend some time with my grandparents, see my aunts, a couple of cousins and my cousins kids who are the cutest almost 5 and 2 year old ever! That was a nice surprise since I didn't know they would be in town! My dad took off back home after a couple of hours but I stayed behind to go to church with my grandma and drove back later in the evening in my moms car since it had been in Kingsville for a few weeks. Of course I cried when I pulled out of the driveway because I hate leaving!

When I got back home that night my dad and I went out for some taquitos! Taquitos are probably in my top 5 favorite foods and they are the best in Brownsville! I wish I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy eating.

Sunday morning my dad left early to play golf with his friends (like he has been doing every Sunday morning for the past probably 15 years) and I slept in. When I woke up I did a little cleaning around the house for my dad and then got dressed and went out shopping! My mom and I used to go out shopping on Sunday mornings a lot. My dad was gone for hours golfing so we had time to go shop and get home and hide our goodies before he saw the bags!

Brownsville does not have the best shopping but I got lucky  and found a couple of great things for myself and for Lily! By the time I made it back home my dad was back from golfing so I did a fashion show for him with all of my purchases, haha! I am sure he loooves having to look at all sorts of girly stuff!

We ate a quick late lunch, I got a raspa (aka snow cone which is also on my list of top 5 favorite foods), and we headed to my grandma's house to visit for a little bit before I had to head for the airport.

On the way to the airport, my dad and I stopped at Baskin Robbins and shared a banana split (and I ate my own ice cream cone as well, whoops).

Then it was time to say goodbye and head back home. I am always sad to leave, but I know I will be heading back in about a month so I won't have to wait too long to get my next fix of family, tacos, and raspas!

Happily Ever After

This past weekend I flew down to south Texas to celebrate 60 years of marriage for these two lovebirds!

We started off the celebration by going to mass on Saturday afternoon. To make it extra special we went to the same church they got married in 60 years ago. After church we all headed out to eat dinner at King's Inn. This place is soooo yummy and has the biggest fried shrimp you have ever seen.
Here are my grandparents when I told them to kiss so I could take a picture.

Granddaddy looks excited while Mom looks slightly embarrassed.

Here they are after the big kiss. They didn't understand that they had to hold the pose so I could get a good picture so I only have the before and after.

I can only hope that I have a smile on my face like that when Danny and I have been married for 60 years!
Congrats Mom and Granddaddy!

Meet the Fam

This is Oliver
Pretty cute, huh? He is my 7 month old Havanese puppy. He enjoys chewing on his rope, dragging his blanket around, eating things out of the bathroom trashcan (this is a new and disgusting development that I am trying to make him stop ASAP), and biting this guys ankles...

This is Ender

He belongs to my fiance. He is a 2 1/2 year old pound puppy. He is a trouble maker to the max and has been known to chew up sunglasses, shoes, suits, mattresses, you name it he has destroyed it. With the exception of getting an entire bag of peanut brittle off the kitchen table last week and eating the whole thing while I was at work, he has pretty much grown out of his crazy ways.

And this ladies and gentlemen is the lucky guy who gets to marry me in about 11 months! He is pretty much the best thing ever. In fact, he is in the other room as I type working on the website for our wedding. I think he is making it from scratch but I don't know much about making a website so don't take my word for it. He also designed a monogram for the wedding the other day which turned out great! He is pretty talented and is helping me out so much with wedding stuff. I am a lucky girl.

These three guys keep me on my toes and although there are some days I want to trade one or more of them in, I love them!
